Internal Visits


During this visit, Philippe and Nadege presented research interests of Thales to QMUL students and they discussed the latest research outcomes in areas of face detection and recognition, pattern recognition and foreground/background subtraction with researchers in MMV working in the same areas. The goal of the visit was to exchange experiences and insights about developed solutions for mentioned applications of video analytics and their performance on different datasets. Philippe and Nadege also presented Thales experience and projects in areas of biometrics and ID cards security. QMUL introduced Thales also work carried out in other EU security projects and ongoing research on video encoding, knowledge representation, inference and fusion of multidimensional data. The visit played an important role for future research collaborations between QMUL and Thales and set the ground for sustainable cooperation between two organisations in areas of video surveillance and forensics.
