Internal Visits


During this visit, Christian Fedorczak gave an overview presentation of the work carried out by Thales in areas of security and discussed the future steps in ongoing research collaboration between QMUL and Thales. Ebroul Izquierdo, Tomas Piatrik and researchers from QMUL/MMV presented the recent research activities of the group in areas of foreground and background subtraction, people tracking, and distinctive region detection. Further discussions have been driven with focus on user requirements and ethical challenges in video analytics on real CCTV data. The discussions included also other applications in areas of video security, including anonymisation, face recognition, and action recognition. Both Partners discussed and outlined the plan for further improvements of the discussed video analytics to tackle the issues with real time processing and accuracy. The visit set the ground for the future research collaborations between QMUL and Thales in areas of video analytics and security after the project lifetime.
